A popular country pub and hotel in South Wales has commented on the outstanding personal service from AvantiGas since switching to them in July 2013.

THE CHALLENGE

The Old Barn Inn, owned by Philip and Jackie Moore, houses 15 luxury rooms, a restaurant bar and stunning wedding facilities. After buying the public house in 2004, Phil and Jackie went on to convert the site into a hotel and over the years have developed extensive gardens and an orangery to host weddings.

With an extensive customer base of business and personal guests, the hotel and pub moved to AvantiGas LPG over a year ago based on the excellent customer service, competitive prices and face-to-face contact.

“We have owned the site for just over 10 years and always been off mains gas. We have moved suppliers four times due to the level of customer service and prices the suppliers could offer. We want a supplier where we have one contact that we can speak to and see if needed, a personal service rather than an automated process, which is what AvantiGas has,” Phil Moore commented.

WHAT WE DID

“We started talks with AvantiGas in March 2013, before switching four months later. We moved with a fixed 12 month rate and have just renewed at the same price which we are hugely impressed with. The price is so good and it means we know exactly how much we’re spending month on month for our gas supply.”

“We use LPG primarily for the pub. We added the 15 rooms six years ago and at the time we weren’t allowed to heat the rooms with gas. The LPG is used to heat the water for the hotel and we depend on it to provide cooking and heating for the pub.”

THE RESULT

“We have been very happy with the service from AvantiGas. When we switched they spent time getting used to our pattern of supply and it has been a seamless process ever since. They are used to the way our business runs and are flexible to our needs, whether we need more gas depending on the time of year and how busy we are.

In such a prime location situated next to the Celtic Manor – home to the Ryder Cup, business conferences and events throughout the year – The Old Barn Inn is rarely quiet.

“Monday to Thursday the hotel is booked up with guests on business and the weekends are often filled with weddings and our regular customers. To keep us topped up AvantiGas come every 7-10 days to refill our tanks and ensure we never run out – which we haven’t!

“The faultless management from AvantiGas means we don’t have to worry about our LPG supply, the tank is refilled and we are safe in the knowledge that should there be a problem, we can rely on AvantiGas to get it sorted!” Phil added.
